Resilience Counseling Agency was founded on a simple conviction: healing isn't about becoming someone new. It's about recovering the strength you already have — the parts of you that got buried under stress, trauma, anxiety, or grief.
Located in the heart of Waterloo, we offer a safe, nonjudgmental space where real change happens. Our team works with individuals navigating life's hardest transitions — relationship struggles, career burnout, loss, identity questions, and the quiet weight of simply not feeling like yourself anymore.
We don't believe in one-size-fits-all treatment. Every person who walks through our doors gets a plan built around their life, their goals, and their pace.
Whether you're dealing with a specific challenge or just know something feels off, we have the tools and the training to help. Here are the areas we focus on most.
Constant worry, racing thoughts, or that tight feeling in your chest — you don't have to live like this. We teach practical strategies that actually work, so you can feel calm in your own body again.
When everything feels heavy and nothing brings joy anymore, therapy can help you find your way back. We work at your pace — no rushing, no pressure, just steady support.
Past experiences shouldn't control your present. Using evidence-based approaches, we help you process trauma so it stops running the show — and you can finally move forward.
Whether it's with a partner, family member, or colleague — difficult relationships take a real toll. We help you understand the patterns and build healthier ways to connect.
Career changes, grief, divorce, parenting — big life shifts can leave you feeling unmoored. We help you navigate uncertainty and find clarity on what comes next.
If you've spent years feeling not quite good enough, we can help you rebuild that foundation. Real self-worth isn't built on achievement — it's built on understanding yourself.
We draw from several evidence-based modalities — CBT, EMDR, narrative therapy, and more — but we never force a framework onto a person who doesn't fit it. Your treatment plan is built around you, not our preferences.
I was skeptical about therapy after bad experiences elsewhere. But from the very first session, I felt heard — not analyzed, not judged. I finally have tools I can use when life gets overwhelming.

After my divorce, I didn't know who I was anymore. Resilience helped me rebuild — not into someone perfect, but into someone real. I'm grateful every single day.

The flexibility of in-person and virtual sessions made it possible for me to keep going even during my busiest weeks. That kind of understanding is rare, and it made all the difference.

We work with several major insurance providers and can verify your benefits before your first session. We also offer self-pay options and sliding scale fees for those without coverage.
If something in your life feels stuck, overwhelming, or just not quite right — therapy is worth exploring. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit. Think of it as investing in your mental health, the way you would for anything else.
Both formats are effective — it comes down to what feels most comfortable for you. In-person sessions happen at our Waterloo office; virtual sessions are held via secure video. You can switch between them as your schedule or needs change.
There's no one-size-fits-all answer. Some clients find relief in 8–12 sessions; others benefit from longer-term support. We'll discuss your goals upfront and check in regularly so you always know where you stand.
Absolutely. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of our practice. What you share in session stays in session, with the standard legal exceptions (imminent danger to self or others, abuse of a minor or vulnerable adult). We'll go over this in detail during your first visit.
You've already done the hardest part — considering it. The rest is logistics, and we make it simple. Call us, email us, or fill out the form and we'll get back to you within one business day.
